This is my light hearted blog on the trials and tribulations to becoming a commercial pilot. Documenting the joys and sorrows of earning my wings to that Jet Set lifestyle...
Enjoy,
Yours, Hawk

Familiar Faces..
Here are some of the featured characters mentioned in the Blog..
The Skipper - The Top Brass of the Academy. A man of experience and standing.
The Colonel - An old ex-RAF with impecable RP and a Hugh Grant stutter. A very grandfather-like character.
The Chief - A portly, well spoken retired-RAF with a deep bellowing voice that commands power; a man with gravitas.
The Navigator - An older Ex-RAF Navigator with friends in very high places. Royalty amongst the school. With jokes like your friends' dads would say, but funnier.
The Squadron Leader - A veteran pilot with as many anecdotes as years to his name. His stress and drinking problems provide an edgy humour.
The Tiger - An ex-RAF Flight Engineer with a very good sense of humour and a desire to be in Panto.
Mr Pilot - A true pilot in every sense of the word; only interested in things that are of use in the cockpit, "The pilot stuff, not that science crap". Tall, cynical, with few words and doesn't suffer fools.
The Weatherman - A young experienced pilot with a foul mouth and a fast talking East End manner.
The Illusionist - A (relatively) young, chipper ex-RAF pilot, with a good sense of humour, a northern upbringing and a lot of energy.
Headhunter - A mid-twenties career man, with a yearning to fly. One of my fellow cadets.
